I hope this holiday season you find time to put your phone down and turn away from the screen full of other people’s lives. I hope you don’t get caught up in materialistic things and other people’s expectations and opinions. Know what is truly important in your life.
Don’t get lost in the business of the world. I grew up playing outside, spending holidays with my parents, and learning. Always learning. Now we are all multi-tasking, trying to be efficient and productive. We check our e-mails numerous times a day, talk on the phone, go on social media, work, and go home to only start it all over again. Have one day where you have nothing to do and nowhere to be. Let your mind wander.
Do not live in the future. Too much. “What am I going to do?”, “What kind of person will I be?”. All you have is right now. Enjoy and appreciate where you are. Do not focus on the next place you need to be. Find pleasure in being still. Do not let your future steal your present.
Do not lack appreciation. Walk a little slower, enjoy the flavor, and do not wish your days away. Grow, change, and improve. I know there are something’s you hate. Things that make no sense to you. You have been ripped apart, perhaps uprooted from your safe place. One day you feel goodness all around you, and the next you are crying out hoping to be known in the storm. Know that it’s okay. You are being made into a beautiful thing.
You know those moments where life feels like it is falling apart? Like maybe that goal you set is too hard or there isn’t enough time to start. You find there is only one option for you – to quit – but don’t. Don’t you dare. What you search for, is on the other side of not giving up.
We all have distractions and excuses. Be intentional. Develop a purpose. See your goals and dreams through. You will only see what you decide to look for.
I want you to live a fulfilled life. The only way to do that is doing what requires the most from you. We are naturally scared of the unknown, but if you get past that it will lead you to freedom. Don’t be scared of your intuition. Keep looking. Even if you are not aware of what you are searching for. You will know when you find it.
And so I hope for you all the goodness and blessings that come your way. I hope this is not just another day for you. Wishing you the best during the holidays and an amazing new year.
