There is a dream inside all of us, a vision that only we can see. You are born with a passion and when you finally feed it, there is no stopping it from growing.
There are also people in the world that will never be excited for your vision. They will never accept what you see. Let me tell you something. One of the most powerful motivations lies in four small words. “You can’t do it”. It makes me laugh just typing those words.
It should never slow you down.
If you allow it, of course it will push you backwards. But is never what is stopping you. It’s all within you. You are the only person standing in the way of yourself.
So listen; listen to your life. It will always speak to you until you finally understand, until you finally believe in it.
Do not waste the life you were given, refusing to believe it exists.
You can’t imagine the voices I have had shouting at me my entire life. There was always someone telling me what I couldn’t do, what I shouldn’t do. If I had listened, I wouldn’t have anything I have now. Life’s not easy and its not supposed to be. But it is worth it. It is worth sacrificing everything for.
You are the only one that can make it happen. You cannot give up and you cannot take failure personally.
The strongest people I’ve met have not been given an easier life. They’ve learned to create strength and happiness from dark and difficult places.
It’s actually one of life’s biggest motivators. Coming from a disadvantaged background or not being happy with your life.
We all get beat up. We all get pushed to the very brink and it makes us want to quit.
However, I am much more thankful for the negative than I am for the positive. I am thankful for every single person who made it hard, who made it much harder than it had to be.
For every person who pushed me to the edge every chance they had, for every person who told me I couldn’t do it, that I wouldn’t do it. To every person who tried to drain me of everything I had. Thank you. The anger, the frustration – it was the fuel that I needed to do what I wanted.
I can do whatever I want. Despite what anyone else says or thinks. I’ll never believe otherwise. And to be honest, you don’t need to believe me. It’s not your job to. Its mine.
You want to travel the world – go. You want to write a book- do it. You want to be a photographer – pursue it. Who cares what society thinks is normal and accurate. You don’t want to go to college – don’t. Who cares? Who am I to tell you that you can’t be something? Who are they to tell you?
I hope you realize your dreams are real. You don’t need me or anyone else to tell you that. You need to believe in yourself, only you.
So next time someone wants to tell you that you can’t be someone or do something, trust your gut and believe in your instincts. Follow that voice you hear when all other doubt is silenced.
Prove them wrong.
